Ask yourselves… How can I help restore broken hearts and broken lives?
A devastating storm has just raged through your neighborhood, your
community, your town! Whose effects have proven to be of catastrophic
proportion, leaving behind a path of destruction? Only this storm was not
caused by the forces of nature. No. not at all, for this was, and is the
name of our storm! Its name is Addiction!
Who is left suffering?...the Children, Mothers, Daughters, Sisters,
Nieces, Cousins, Fathers, Brothers, Uncles, Friends, Neighbors and
Coworkers. The storm simply doesn’t care; the more harm, the more pain, the
more glory and victory for its cause.
The results are hopelessness, confusion, pain, homelessness, insecurities
and severed relationships.
Again ask yourselves, how can I help? Who am I; I’m just one person?
I don’t have that much to offer. That’s OK, each of us can do one small
thing. Together that makes for a big thing. It takes one brick at a time to
build a whole house. Please help us build a house for their recovery.
The Millennium Center is a treatment program in Cuthburt,
Georgia, whose goal is designed to currently help restore and reunite 22
mothers and their 32 children? Their aim is to provide sane in-treatment
whole family living units which have come to blows with this ravaging storm
of addiction. They provide a way out—there is a solution!
This is a program, where mothers gain an intense understanding of their
addiction and how to utilize new life skills. They learn how to cope with
emotions, feelings, and practical and applicable skills are taught.
Again, you say, how can I help?
This is an organization which is funded in small part by some government
funds. They get housing and food stamps and some medical help, but the rest
is up to those of us who choose to help. Their resources are limited. They
gain shelter and a working recovery program. The children are included in
the life skills teaching, on their levels.
Your
donations can help with the rest.
