Dirty Feet
John
13:1, 5 (ESV) Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that
his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having
loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.... 5 Then
he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and
to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
We may not know how to love as Jesus loved. Most of us cannot even
conceive of it enough for it to be recognized as His love in our
interactions with others. But, we can start at the other end of His love
by doing the most simple deeds of kindness, like washing dirty feet,
carrying your mother's purse or letting someone in front of you at a
grocery line. You will be beginning where Jesus left off. He has already
taken care of the harder stuff.
Matthew 25:22 (ESV) 22 And he also who had the two
talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents;
here I have made two talents more.’ 23 His master said to him, ‘Well
done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I
will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
Now go and look for some dirty feet or someone behind
you in a grocery line...maybe your mom wants to go shopping.
